My New Desk and Favorite Spot Now

I cannot believe that summer is over and fall has started. I know it does not really start for a few weeks, but it feels like fall. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I feel reborn and especially this year.

So much is going on right now for us. We have made our list and checking it off for Hubby's retirement. We have been going through the house and garage getting rid of things we don't need. We will still be here for the next 6 months at least. I still have to have surgery on my knees and the Doctor says when my health is better he will do it in March of next year. I cannot get into the details, but my health took a turn for the worse  a couple of months ago, but happy to say I am on the mend.

I am looking forward to the  new year and have lots to be thankful for.

Remember I told you I bought a desk early this year and it did not work out and gave it to Hubby. Well he surprised me with a new desk and I love it.  He also got me a pretty pink chair. I am in the pink mode now.

I found this journal and mug on amazon and they are so cute. I just love writing in a journal and you can never have too many.

Every one should have a vase of flowers on their desk with a cute pencil holder and a candle. I love lighting a candle while I write in my journal.

I always have to have a trash can and bought this from Target. It is metal and I really did not know it would be so heavy, but that is ok.  The rug was in the dining room, but I put it in here after I got the new one for it.

Sorry about the grainy pictures I think my camera is going to quit on me. I have tried everything to fix it and so far nothing works. Hope you like my new writing area, as my pillow says it is My Happy Place.

  1. Oh Betty, I love your pink chair. Wherever did you find that? Everything looks so cozy and charming.... your desk, the happy place pillow, the candle. And the pink roses add a special touch. Your journal and cup even match each other! I like how you have a lot of sun coming through in this space. I'm so sorry you're having health problems right now, and hope you're feeling better. You're right, you can never have too many journals. It's nice to hear you've been writing in yours, and lighting your candle makes it even more special.

I hope you have many good things come your way in September Betty.

  3. What a beautiful place your writing space is. There are so many gorgeous pretties to be seen, to be enjoyed. The pink chair is heavenly and yes, every desk should have a pretty vase of flowers resting atop. Actually, I think there should be many vases of fresh flowers within one's home. The 'bin' is lovely; such a pretty shape. I am glad to read your health is on the mend. May you keep healing with each day. I suppose the next six months will fly for you and your husband.

  4. The pink chair is so pretty and looks good with your new desk. I like all the pink touches. I've never kept a journal, but I do keep a note book and record what I eat, plus jot down notes and special things that happen each day. I suppose that is sort of journaling. :) If I buy myself a pretty journal, I can't think of anything to write.

  5. What a great happy writing space. You've made it all cozy and charming. My desk looks rather cluttered at the moment. I guess I need to make that a project soon... especially after seeing your pretty desk!
Thanks for visiting me at Harvest Lane Cottage!
