Sitting Area in My Craft Room

Sunday, May 3, 2020
It has been a long few months and I am hoping that we get out of this virus mess soon. My heart goes out to everyone. I do not know anyone that has not known someone effected by it. We have had family and friends that have had it, but they have all been lucky to get through it.

I have been going a little nuts staying in the house during this time. My Husband is an essential worker so he has been out there. I have been busy making masks for him and others. I just finished my last bunch this week.

We had plans to do some repairs to the house, but that is on hold for now. Instead I made me a sitting area in my crafts room. Here is the before picture.

Here is the after. I can now sit and enjoy  reading a book or drinking a cup of tea. I can also sit in the room when I need to do a little sewing my hand

Right now I am reading a book by Debbie Macomber, Window on the Bay. I love her books and movies that are on the Hallmark channel. I am a nut about Hallmark movies.

Here is our little Mandy. Our son made her when he was in grade school in crafts. He painted her and she was actually already made. She looks exactly like our dog Mandy. She was with us for over 16 years and to this day I miss her so much.

My heart and wishes go out to all of you and your families. Sending big Hugs to everyone and stay safe.

  1. I've read quite a few of Debbie Macomber books and like them too.
Thank goodness I don't know anyone who has had the virus.

  2. Your reading area looks so cozy, and a perfect reading spot!

So did you see all of episodes of Cedar Cove? I sure enjoyed those shows!

Have a great start to this new week, and enjoy this glorious spring season.

  3. Hi Betty. I am a new visitor to your blog and am now a follower. I love this craft room. It is so bright and airy - super nice. I read that you are making masks too. I have made 95 so far and have given or will be giving most away. I want to make over 100, then I think I will be done. I am all "masked out." Trying to do my part. I have enjoyed Debbie Macomber books too. Have a great week!

  4. Hi, a new follower also. Your blog is so cute! I have Irish ancestors way back. 💖

  5. Your craft room is so pretty and cheery, Betty! Your sitting area is perfect for you. I love Hallmark movies, too, and Debbie Macomber books.
Thank you for your visit to my blog. ❤️

  6. I love the chair added to your sewing room. It's the perfect color too. I've been looking for the perfect chair for my sewing room. I want a soft comfortable chair like yours but it has to be small. Your sewing room is pretty.

  7. Betty, it's so nice to see you here again. Your craft room is charming - I love everything about it. The little dog that your son made is darling and such a treasure. I noticed the box she was on, bloom with grace. What a special box. I love to find boxes like that to put our special keepsakes in. That sea shell is beautiful, and it reminds me of the one I had, but can't seem to find it with all the moves we've had through the years.

I'm glad you're doing Ok, Betty. Stay well and safe during this time, and happy May days to you. : )

  8. Hi Betty! Your new sitting area seems very cozy! I love having a quiet place to myself to read. We have had an early spring. I hope you get yours soon! Getting outside makes all the difference.

  9. How nice of you to come all the way to visit my post. I am in California and we too have been having a difficult time with the virus. I am fortunate that I can stay home without problems but I feel so sorry for those losing their jobs and of course those becoming ill. I hope and pray that they will find a vaccine.

Your little sitting area looks very cozy, what a good idea.

    Take care and stay well.

  10. The chair is a great addition, Betty. Your room is so pretty Debbie Macomber is a good writer. I, too, like Hallmark movies. They're almost always top notch. Stay well! Hugs, Nancy

  11. Your craft room is so pretty and having a sitting area in it to read lets you enjoy it even more. I love the colors you've chosen for your room, it's so cheerful. Your story of Mandy touched my heart. I know exactly what you mean, you never stop missing them. They are so wonderful and we have them such a short time.

I'm staying in too. I've only been out in public one time, last week for a 3 month eye appointment, all done with a mask on both for me and the staff. I want so much sometimes to even go to the grocery store but then decide it can wait.
