Front Yard In The Summer

For the last few years Our front porch as remained the same except the shrubs and vines are getting bigger. I so enjoy sitting on the front porch in the afternoon.  I am so happy our fence turned out so nice after cleaning. You can see a little of it here. We also have a back porch and I sit on it in the morning. Too hot for it in the afternoon.

I really love buying the plants in the pots from QVC. Every year they just seem to fill out their pots. I hope they will continue to sell them.

I am really happy with the crepe myrtle bushes along side of our fence. I do have one that is not doing to well, but lucky for us we have some growing in the back yard and this fall I will switch them out.

That is it for a tour of our front yard. I really miss blogger tours for their gardens. Maybe they are out there and I can't find them.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

  1. Your yard and home are so beautiful and welcoming. I love the crepe myrtle bushes. We enjoy sitting on our front porch or back deck depending on the time of day. Fun to listen to the birdsong while there. We've been in our home 4 mos and brought a lot of plants from our last home. It is a work in progress!

    1. Thank You, Laurel. I love listening to the birds in the morning while sitting on the front porch. I get up early with Hubby and after he goes to work I will take my cup of coffee and sit in the swing.

  2. Such a peaceful place you have and how wonderful that you use it for your enjoyment.
My...those crepe myrtle bushes are awesome!

Our yard affords us many special spots to sit and enjoy.
In the morning our front deck is best, in the afternoon our back deck is wonderful and then around dinner time sitting on the park bench beside the creek is absolutely perfect.
We are truly blessed, as it seems you are as well. 🐝

    Blessings to you ♡

  4. What a neat pretty yard you have, and your porches are lined with flowers! I love sitting on our porches too. In fact, I have been in the mood to really fix up both porches (now that summer is about over) :( But the cool days of fall are good for porch sitting too. I love seeing others porches and gardens too. Spring is best for my garden tours. :) Right now everything looks pretty bad. Maybe I should do a porch post. Love, Henny

  8. Wow! Your crepe myrtles are so pretty!
Also I'm impressed with your potted flowers.

It's nice to have outdoor 'rooms' to enjoy throughout the seasons :)

    Smiles :)

  9. Beautiful. I love my crepe myrtles. They just seem to be more green then having lots of blooms. Gotta read up on that and see if I can feed them something special to help with blooming.

    1. Thank You. The bigger mine have gotten I started to have the blooms and more of them. I think they like clay soil because I do not do anything to them. I did have some pink ones, but they did not last the first season.

  10. I would perch myself on your front porch and sit a long spell. So pretty a spot with the Crepe Myrtles. I have red ones but they are lighter this year. I am sure it is the soil.
Never have I thought of buying plants from QVC. Will check them out.
I love the sound of windchimes. I only have one and would like more.
