The Garden Beds Are Ready

Wednesday, May 8, 2019
I cannot believe this is what the back yard looked like a few weeks ago. So horrible.

Now is looks like this. We finally finished the garden beds. We had to redo our main one with new wood this year and we created two more for cucumbers and zucchini. Cannot wait to plant our veggies.  We have to wait another week to plant in our area.

We also were able to repair our wood fence, but have not been able to pressure wash it because of all the rain we have been having. This week our saucer peonies started to bloom and they are so pretty this year.

What have you all been up to?

  1. Wow your yard looks amazing, Betty!! So green and lush! Can't wait to see the garden beds planted. My peonies are up but no buds yet, it's too early. I have some that are in their 4th year this year and have yet to bloom....hopefully this will be the year!

  2. What a difference a couple of weeks makes in a spring garden. Your Saucer Peonies are gorgeous, Betty. You will have baskets of veggies to pick this Summer....how fabulous!

  3. You guys have done a ton of work, and it looks fantastic!!
    Love those peonies!
I have some Japanese peonies that are blooming, but our old fashioned peonies have not started to bloom yet...I do hope they bloom though, as we 'rescued' them from a peony hater that had mowed over them!
This will be the 3rd year, so I am hopeful that they will bloom profusely.
    Wishing you a happy day.

  9. Hi Betty, I've been working in the garden too , there's so much to do this time of year . With Steve being sick and so fatigued from the chemo I'm trying to do it all by myself , so far so good . It does make me pretty tired when evening comes but I sleep like a rock . Your yard looks beautiful all your hard work really shows . Thank you so much for your prayers we appreciate them and are forever grateful .
